What are YOUR new rig ideas/upgrades for 2016?

Chime in Tek fans :D

I wanna know what rigs you plan to build for the new year, to get your hoards of work done (its for work right? right? :P), or what upgrades you'll be blessing your current rigs with. Whether work, gaming, coding, whatever the case may be (case pun unintended, maybe)

Considering my job doesn't show up until summer, hopefully AM4 is out by then and it's decent

Upgrading from my good ol' Sandy 3820 to, hopefully the Broadwell-E 6900k, Workstation board of some form(Asus or ASrock, but if MSI comes out with one--definitely interested), a pair of Pascal cards when the time comes, 750 NVME or OCZ equivalent, Fractal Define S, unless they come out with a new Define-XL. Pretty much plan on a high-end build that will be ultra-quiet(NH-D15s and Phanteks HPII fans), high performance for the future, and with no HDD's what-so-ever. Just need some HDR displays to be out in the world at 3440x1440 and I will be set.

Just need a Tek Syndicate mouse to complete the new set-up when the time comes. HINT.

Already upgraded my R9-290 to a R9 Fury Windforce.

Now for future upgrades maybe change to Zen or go ITX in the future.

Definitely would be nice to see ZEN make an appearance soon

Indeed, Zen, hopefully soon

When all goes to plan: 8320 to Zen (16 cores at home?)

Edit: A new SSD would not hurt either...

Don't talk about it so blatantly open like that, mice are shy

You'll experience quite a feeling of Zen when you accomplish that upgrade

Hint as well.. we should find ourselves a Tek Syndicate keyboard. With Outemu and Gateron options. That'd be wonderful. Throws ideas at Rooster, who should throw them at Logan Go forth, my Cockadoodle friend.

PRESENTLY my rig isn't TERRIBLE:
Fractal Design Define R5 w/3 Venturi HF-14's and a HP-14 for the radiator
FX 8350 @ 4.5 GHz core, 2400 Mhz CPU/NB
8 GB DDR3 @ 2133 MHz
Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
EVGA GTX 980 FTW Ref. @ 1500 MHz core at boost, 7400 MHz GDDR5
Kingston HyperX 240 GB SSD
WD 3 TB Red drive
Swiftech H-140X
Fractal Design Newton R3 800W PSU
ALL of the white BitFenix cable extensions

... but it just feels tired lately. It still edits like I want it to, but I want more speed for the power draw. Prolly the only other thing I'd want to do to this rig as it sits NOW is to get everything under water and add in a 360 mm HWLabs XFlow rad to my loop with some Venturi HP-12 fans.

Some nice Cherry-Keyboard with a burning earth...

I'd prefer Gateron or Outemu over Cherry. The quality has surpassed them in terms of general feel and consistency. Gateron is just wonderous for Linear switches as per the lube, and smoothness. Outemu are just very deep and tactile in their feeling. Thick? That's the word that comes to mind when comparing Outemu blues to normal blues or even to MX Greens.

I have no need for the extra cores in all honesty. Though, my multi-tasking has been somewhat finicky with four cores. I don't know why.

Ohgawd yes! I just reviewed the Monoprice Select Series keyboard with red Gaterons and that thing is DIVINE! The only real issue it has is the strange "ISO" format enter key on an otherwise ANSI layout, and the space bar is a bit too heavy because of the retention springs... but for a 50 dollar Gateron-equipped keyboard, you kind of can't go wrong.

What's your CPU? Having four cores should be plenty for most typical multi-tasking. When did that issue start?

I've got another Gateron board on the way right now. Trying out their 35g Clear switches, and I just.. I am in love with Gateron over Cherry. Considering picking up a Blackwidow Chroma TKL due to the apparent Razer Switch quality improving in the last batch to levels above Cherry in consistency. That and they make a similar sound to my MX Green boards. Super curious on them. Not a fan of the lower row of keys for swapping out PBT, though.

I have heard that the Gateron Clears are legendary among switches. I REALLY want to try a Gateron Clear keyboard , I hate heavy switches since they tend to fatigue my hands too quickly when I type, which is surprisingly often for someone who doesn't TYPE my reviews out anymore, at least not in a traditional sense x-D

Get another 390 and maybe upgrade to broadwell if the performance and price are right.
