What are your favorite distros and thoughts on my favorite distro?

I'm curious about what distro everyone uses and what are everyones thoughts on linux mint 17.1 cinnamon and KDE?

I like Gentoo and Arch. I haven't tried mint in a while but when I used it it was good. Cinnamon was early days then, but I see that it has come along very nicely. I never really enjoyed Kde, and I'm not sure why.

I'm using arch linux right now w/ kde (not sure if I'm gonna keep kde though). I really enjoyed mint but I still prefer ubuntu between the two just cause it hits the sweet spot of similar to windows but not overly so. Where as with mint it was just too similar for my tastes.

I use open(SUSE) and Ubuntu. I'm probably going to migrate to Kubuntu when 15.04 is released so I can avoid the shit that's going to go down with Mir. I love openSUSE because of the powerful tools it has: YaST, zypper, kGraft, WebYaST... makes administration a breeze. Ubuntu is my main distro, it has great software compatibility and "just werkz" better than anything else I've tried for day to day use.

My favorite distros: Ubuntu/Debian/Suse/Arch. With either gnome 3 or i3.

Thoughts on KDE: From what i have seen, plasma is looking really good. Only problem i have with it isnt the fault of KDE, Its just that i have invested so much time with gnome and i3 that i don't really want to swap from what i'm familiar with.

Thoughts on Mint: Really quite good. The only reason i don't use it is because i don't feel it offers me anything particularly useful over Ubuntu or Debian. In saying that if i have to recommend a distro for a not particularly tech savvy person i usually recommend Mint with Mate, purely because of the similarities between windows pre 8.1.

Side note: Above statements are opinions, not fact. Take everything i say with a grain of salt.

I agree that it is very similar out of the box but I customize it in a way that it isn't similar anymore.

Arch + gnome, recently switched from just openbox :P I can't stand ubuntu as it has a history of killing my computers 1 week after install, last time taking the whole partition table including windows with it. Also ubuntu wasn't.... fun while arch is in my opinion
