What Are You Reading? / Book Lounge

Honestly… it sat unread other than skimming.

That is not a remark on the quality of the book. Life just got very busy and I haven’t had time to hack on any personal projects since then.

It was also a library book with someone wanting it after me, so I returned it. Will circle around again when I have more time.

I restarted the series like a month ago on rythms right now so a bit away before I can get to the new one.

He says in the beginning of this one that the story is halfway finished with the release of this book. so take your time. I should slow down with this one.

I am not in a rush, I was just “re-reading” all of the books. (Audible)

Nice! I’m still halfway on book three, very refreshing to have deep, complex world building. It’s amazing how long each book is, it’s going to be a while yet before I get to that one!

Wind and Truth is GREAT.

Shorty after finishing that, I saw that Dungeon Crawler Carl #7 came out. Highly recommend this series.

Read through Crime and Punishments pretty recently. Kind of an enjoyable read, particularly the psychological elements.

Currently reading through Thus Spoke Zarathustra.

Used to read a lot of fantasy in my youth, the usual suspects, such as Harry Potter, Inheritance Trilogy, Pendragon, Bartimaeus Trilogy, etc. I actually had my books taken away as punishment for doing more reading in class than doing schoolwork.

I don’t have a particular interest in revisiting any of these, with the exception of His Dark Materials.

I decided to join the speeed reading club who is reading Dark Matter

In prep for the discussion tomorrow on the discord, I read the first 3 chapters

Wow
my money is that the guy who kidnapped him is a alternate reality version of him where he became a famous physicist and swapped places with him

Also I created a story graph account. I like the stats and book tracking more than bookwyrm

Wilful Blindness by Sam Cooper

Speeed book club voted to read Project Hail Mary. Foundaryside was my vote last time. I guess I’ll add it and confederacy of duances to my to read list because the descriptions sounded interesting

Just read the first chapter, interesting start where the author introduces us to the main character through amnesia

I started reading Wool, the tv series on apple tv got me into it. books great and I love the way the main charicter looks at the world.

read it on saturday as there were so many of the people i sub to on youtube and other places who have been doing the most spoilery in-depth videos so i’ve kind of been avoiding the internet fully. Normally with books i love to read them over a week or two or more and really be able to soak them up and enjoy, but i munched through this one in a few short hours :innocent:

rose is from 2024 V-day and has aged and dried out to match the shade of the book :purple_heart:

Does anyone having a +300 book library, use a barcode scanner and the DDC shelve and organize?

I bet one of these peeps has +300 digital books. I would be interested to see how they organize.

I’m assuming on a hard drive. I was thinking IRL

As much as I may buy digital books using credits, having a dead tree edition is easier to use bookmarks.
Current books being looked at:
Mark H. Libenson
Practical Approach to Electroencephalography

Jill Heinerth
Essentials of Cave Diving: Fourth Edition

Have a bunch of Lit books around for regular reference.

I’ve been reading Blindsight, it’s really good.

The Great Heroin Coup: Drugs, Intelligence & International Fascism

Really interesting so far.

I’ve just started reading Atomic Habits by James Clear
