I actually wanna know why this split exists. There is no separate pop or rock or rap or whatever else. So ... why?
Everyone will dislike most of what is posted anyway, that is just the way it is with music and taste and shit. And its not like you wouldn't be able to keep up, this isn't the lounge. So why make people go to two places instead of one?

I think they’re separate because, at least at one point in time, a vast majority of the forum preferred metal over other genres.
Considering metal would take up 37% of “Listening To” posts.
