I prefer a more flat sound, listening to too wide a variety of music to enjoy heavy passive equalization. I think around or under $100 is the most expensive I would buy due to my history of losing earbuds after a few months of use, and with track season approaching i will need something to keep me occupied at lengthy indoor meets. If you have a favorite IEM that isn’t off the wall with bass and think I should look into it then I would be very grateful.
HF5 or Waterline.
If you have a bad habit of losing IEM's then I would have a look at Audiofly AF33's
Dirt cheap, but with excellent sound that is very well balanced and if/when you lose them, buy another pair. Should cost you around $30 USD shipped
I have the ie800's.
Absolutely love them. I picked them up for $400 used on amazon. I bring them to work like every day or used them on walks. It sounds pretty balanced to me, but the bass is a bit much if you have the proper tips that fit in your ear well.
I also have hifiman he-500's. In comparison to the ie800's, I actually find they sound better than a $500 pair of headphones, even when amped with a dac. They sound even better than the he-500's, if you are not on an amp or dac, because they have a much lower impedance.
I'm very happy with the ie800's... and I recommend them to you my friend. They're more $, but I think they're the best bang for your buck if you want true 'hifi' or top of the line audio.
check out the head-fi community. Their forums typically have nothing but iem / headphone reviews.
Dude,he said under 100$ :D . Maybe DUNU Titan 1 ? They are pretty awesome.
Also they are pretty open so soundstage is really wide.
Or Havi B3 Pro 1
