First let me say I LOVE YOU GUYS & GALS !!! Tek Syndicate is awesome and the forum is the best help on the internet yall are the best. I just got a MSI laptop and love it MSI GE-60 Apache pro I added a 256gb msata Samsung evo ssd and upgraded to 16gb of ram and always have a 128gb sd card popped in the slot for quick file transfers for school.
For windows I downloaded the usual stuff Glary utility's, Ccleaner, Start is back, VLC, Steam, Battlenet, Origins, 7-zip and of course got rid of all the bloatware not needed. So are there any more programs you guys could recommend whether security, performance, or anything else I just figured most of you are more knowledgeable then me and could give me advice on more stuff or other things that are essential.
Then Im a Firefox user not a fan of Chrome and Internet Explorer is just death. The addons I allready have are HTTPS everywhere, add block plus, and add block plus pop ups. Once again I am sure yall can recommend more stuff to add on whether its security, performance, download managers, so on and so forth it does not matter what ever yall suggest.
ditch adblock plus for ublock. Does the same stuff but is more efficient. Lastpass is a really handy dandy password manager, really makes my life easy. and get some kind of protection on your computer for those just-in-case situations. I recommend malwarebytes.. I've been using a lot of thunderbird lately, I like having a mial client right from desktop without having to open a browser. Not sure if you an office suite either, for this I'd choose libre office. Also, here is a LINK for the technician tools i use to clean viruses and crap off of computers. lots of other cooler fixes for uncommon problems. Its also heavily encrypted and will take ~1GB of ram to decrypt, and the password is: t2ks6nd3c1t2
Ok awesome Thank You. How secure is the one for storing passwords I never save them because I'm so iffy about it all my passwords in one place seems dangerous I could be wrong tho. Also I'm not a huge office user but ill check it out is Micrsoft word better because I think I can get a free copy from school, also because I am a student I get 50% off of norton how do you feel about it? I have plenty of ram to decrypt not a problem :)
I will thank you and if any one else wants to put there 2 cents in I'm interested. also I edited my post I think I can get Microsoft word for free is it better than libre in your opinion?
also Im having trouble with my ssd long story short I installed a ssd and voided the warranty and using samsungs cloning software I cloned my hdd to the ssd but am having trouble having boot from the ssd instead of the hdd and in the bios I cant pick one for it to boot from........my question for you is where should I post this problem so I can go into greater detail for help I can't decide I was tinking either hardware or software windows I dont know and am tired of my post getting deleted I will delete this response once I figure out where to post it AT.
ms office is better, they have more money for R&D. Libre office is free, and will suffice for most people. And uhh I can tell you right now, that you shouldve just done a clean on an SSD.
Probably but having to hunt down all the drivers because msi does not have the up to date ones you have to go to indiviual websites for each thing and then all the msi programs this thing needs to run properly is to much work im not willing to do. do you know where I should post that question at?
Awesome Thank You I will do. The only one I'm not game for is the url bar hiding I think that would drive me crazy kinda reminds me when I would be working on some ones computer and the start bar would hide shit drives me absolutely nuts. I am still open to more suggestions yall keep them rolling in.
Just to say it again Firefox is the best browser in my opinion !!!
