If this is for a workstation, you want an nvidia card if you are going to do video editing, transcoding, so on.

Only need 8GB of ram, get a better brand. Corsair, Kingston, Crucial, Mushkin. For the mobo, Asus, Gigabyte, Asrock, Msi all make good boards, just find one with features you want in your price range (Get Z77 chipset though). I would look at getting a 120gb SSD (Mushkin, Corsair, Kingston, Adata), and a 1TB mechanical just for the speed boost. Also purchase a 550-600W Corsair, XFX, Seasonic, Silverstone, Enermax Psu. Dont use the antec one that comes with the case. Antec isnt a very good manufacturer anymore expect the P280, I would look at Bitfenix, Coolermaster, NZXT, Silverstone, Lian Li, Corsair, Fractal. Some good budget cases are a Bitfenix Shinobi, CoolerMaster scout or Haf 912, Corsair 200R or 300R.
