Hello people,
I'm here because I can't make my external hard drive work.
It's one Western Digital (WD) My Passport Ultra 2TB usb 3.0 model. And I want use it only for Windows in future!
I've used it with one macbook pro 15" retina and normally have the drive in the file system HFS+ (the one standard for macOS), but I have bootcamp installed in my machine for using Windows 10 frequently.
The thing is, I erase all the drive in macOS and formated it in exFAT and MS-DOS (even in HFS+) and all the times the drive format correctly and appears in the end with 2TB in the OS of apple, and I can use it normally.
But, when I reboot the machine and start the drive in Windows 10 (disclamer: it's official and never gave me any problem) the drive don't apear in "my computer", when I go to "Windows+X" > "Disk Management" I receive one box prompting me to initialise the disk, and gave me 2 options: MBR or GPT.
Either I choose I receive a error message "The media is write-protected". And it's the end of story for me.
I run the software of WD "WD Drive Utilities" even with the drive not apearing in windows which seems funny. One note: in this software the drive reports only 1,82TB, although in macOS apears 2TB.
I've tryed going through command line with admin privileges. But I got nothing working!
Please, apreciate some help or insight.
I've attached in dropbox link, 3 images that might help understand what I see. LINK
