@Wendell - Hard drive corrupt/unreadable

@wendell My hard drive won't work, when I plug it in it says corrupt and unreadable.

What can I do to fix this?

Linux live CD? Might be the safest way to proceed. To avoid making it worse.

Boot from the live CD and see if you cAn read only mount the file system and copy what you need.
