So I checked my PSU to install my new Card. And it looks like there was a power out yesterday while I was at work. And I guess it fried my psu. Because when I connect it to my fathers psu it worked fine. It seems his PSU wasn't affected. Plus I was using a spare PSU that wasn't pluged in to the wall and even that was fried.. Mybe from when we moved. But still I think it might be the PSU. Or another thing. Maybe the mobo. Because I just used a 4 pin power on the CPU connector and not the 8 pin. And it seems it worked fine with just 4 pin. Hmm and thoughts?
are there any fuses to check? maybe one inside the PSU
Get one of these.... it makes things much easier. Also keep in mind that surge protectors are only intended to stop one surge. After that, most manufactures recommend replacing them. Kind of like a motorcycle helmet. After is saves your noggin once, it's not guaranteed to do it a second time.
- PSU issue is too hard to read & make sense of....
- Motherboards that have 8pin inlet will work with 4pin power cable.
Well it looks like it fried everything. I'm so lucky I just bought the parts and my GPU wasn't in there at the time.
