Well...i may be SLI_boy but

my next build will have a 4870X2....should i get a GTX295 instead?(X58 mobo)

gtx295 is the newer card and has marginally better performance. it's all in how much you're willing to spend.

If you are willing to spend that much money the 295 are better but that is going to cost u a pretty penny

I would recommend a GTX280/285, it's a really powerful single gpu meaning that you won't have to do deal with multi-gpu scaling. Plus you processor will probably bottleneck the crap out of a GTX295.

A core i7 would not bottleneck a gtx295. lol.

hahahh ultra u failed

technically it would bottleneck a GTX295, But you wouldn't care. I'm just saying that a GTX280 is better, great single GPU performance and if you want you can just add a second one later on.

It would not.

If you believe it would so thoroughly though I would like some proof sir.

I read somewhere that to not bottleneck a GTX295 you need to oc an i7 965 to kill bottleneck. The performance would still be good, but technically there would be a bottleneck, you wouldn't care though.

links or it did not happen.
