Weird thing with wine + steam - GUI

I felt this should have its own topic as I doubt I am the only one experiencing this.

When I open Steam in wine I get this gargantuan black bar as if wine is trying to make the window have a shadow and it doesn't know how.

Like it isn't too much of a problem. I can put a window OVER the shaded box, but I don't really know what to do about it.

I'm wondering now if there is something I can do in regedit. Going to investigate.
