Webcam or new Mic

Okay so I am really starting to get into twitch and youtube, and I was wondering which would be a better investment for me, I currently have a headset but the mic is a bit crap to be honest, so I was looking at the mic logan uses, there about £60 here, which is cheaper than the blue snowball in some places.

But I was also thinking about a C920 webcam from logitech, so which would you recommend? I would go for the lower C270 but I am unsure, and see as I can only stream at 720p 60fps, is it worth the extra cash?

Which would you recommend?

Many thanks!

I hope you realize that the mic you may have been looking at is the AT2020 XLR. Logan uses the AT2020+ USB. The AT2020 USB (not plus) is very similar. The main difference in the AT2020+ is there is volume control on the microphone.

I would go with the Microphone. Webcams have become really cheap and really good quality. I have the logitech C270. It fucking looks great for the price. I bought it over 6 years ago at walmart for 20 bucks, and it still looks good.

I've got a c270 and it's rubbish, it's ok for video calls but for broadcasting i think you'll want high video quality before sound qlty

EDIT: also you can tweak your cellphone to work as a webcam if it has a good cam

Got my self a RODE NT USB mic for the work I do. I do all sorts from studio recording to podcasts, a student radio station and game stuff so once it arrives I am happy to tell you my thoughts?

Please do :) although its out of my price range, it will help others

Whats the difference between the XLR and the others? is there any loss of audio quality for voice recording?

Thanks

Well to use XLR you need a XLR Interface to USB.

I'm going to get the AT2020 XLR aswell, just a reminder it doesn't come with a XLR cable or stand (even though it says it does..)

You will need to get this interface (paw recommended it): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alesis-iO2-Express-Recording-Interface/dp/B004IE35WY

you will also need a cable and a stand... so gg.

Just get the USB, you'll be fine.

There has been much debate of the quality difference of the two. Today most USB microphones are up to par with most XLR microphones. The main difference (I can come with with my limited opinion) is because it is XLR you can get an adapter to pretty much anything.

I currently use a logitech c270 webcam for game chat and the sound quality is great for the price (£20)
