Hey,
Ive found my self in the need of a web basied ordering system, it needs to spit out a pdf or some kind of a document that can be printed as the final result. Any ideas? im new to this kind of thing.

If you don't need AJAX then PHP is your friend.
Are you referring to something like a checkout system? If so take a look at Drupal, or one of the other open source eCommerce systems.
Even IF you need AJAX, PHP is good.

A good point, I was just trying to give him/her a starting point.
And depending on skill level, Drupal may not be the best choice.
It's not about skill level. It's more about how much time is willing to be spent climbing a learning cliff.
Drupal isn't really a CMS, it's a framework to build a CMS. That said, it's wonderful.
