A year or so ago i bought a 2tb WD passport external drive. Up until now it has worked fine with all computers, but recently it has started to act up with my personal laptop. It works fine with computers from friends and family but not with mine. One thing that i have noticed is that it works with my computers with Linux or windows 7, and the offending laptop has windows 8. if that is the problem, I don't know but that why I made this thread to ask if anyone knew what the problem might be.
