Waterproof covers for beginners

Hey guys and gals!
This is my first post on this site as I am just getting my first DSLR later this week. However, it is supposed to rain/snow in my area when I will be getting it. I want to start taking outdoors pictures that day so I need something to waterproof my camera.
What are some good options of waterproof covers that are on the less expensive side but will still protect the camera from foreign moisture??
My equipment will be a Nikon D3200 with a 18-55mm lens, or possibly a 52mm telephoto or a wide angle. I may or may not utilize a tripod as well.
Any help would be very much appreciated!!

a clear ziplock bag

cling wrap

an umbrella

Do I put the cling wrap around the lens?

sorry those were 3 options I didn't mean to make it sound like you should do all of them lol.

but i mean when I was taking photos this year at our state fair I just had an umbrella and thats it , it was plenty protection during two different downpours.

but yea you can just use a clear plastic bag and a rubberband around the lens so it stays flush over it.

Thank you so much my friend!

I will second the recommendation of an Umbrella. Your DSLR once the lens is on is resistant to the weather, while its by no means waterproof if its relatively water resident from rain and snow..

I thought it might be, but as it is on the cheaper side, I wasn't sure if it would more susceptible to weather.

all the major camera makers expect you to take your camera out into the world and understand it needs to be able to survive some minimal amount of moisture.

Give this a watch, he covers the important things to consider.
