So I've decided. I really want to water cool my system so its BAMF (lol?)
I plan on buying a kit for my set up , I don't trust myself with purchasing all the individual parts. I also need a backplate for my graphics card.
Here is my current set up:
- i5 3570k
- MSI Radeon 7970 Lightning Edition
- Corsair CX750M PSU
- BitFenix Shinobi XL (Upgraded from the BitFenix Shinobi)
- MSI Mpower Z77 mobo
- Corsair Vengeance 1866Mhz Memory
- Toshiba 7200RPM 1TB Harddrive
FANS : x2 SP120 Fans , x2 AF120 fans
I plan on using this kit : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-157-XS&groupid=962&catid=1532
But I will obviously need a coolant (Yellow hopefully) , a biocide or silver kill coil , anti-corrosive (copper CPU block and silver kill coil) and an extra 240mm rad.
I don't know what is good to get in watercooling , my budget is about £500.

This is the only block for you gpu apart from a universal block
The rest of the parts that will work - overclockers.uk store;

If you are wondering whats with the 7/16 tubing with 1/2 barbs, its just that you wont need clamps, the fit is very snug, simply wet the end of the tubing before going over barbs. Ive done heaps of water builds over the last 10+ years this way. 7/16 tubing is a tad more flexible as well. Plus clamps are ugly and compression fittings are expensive.
That gpu block can be sourced from here:
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/ek-fc7970-lightning-acetalplusnickel-water-block-for-msi-radeon-hd-7970-lightning-series-vga
All adds up to just under the 500 mark.
I would use the 3 scythe gt's on the top rad and the 2 nocuta's on your front 240 rad.
Swap and change the front rad to suit - you may want a thicker core etc. Up to you.
Hope this is of some help mate. Once you start watercooling it becomes an addiction. That gpu is going to be an absolute animal once under water. With some added volts you'll get some crazy performance.
