Water cooling on a tight budget updated and finished

so i am finally getting my final piece (water block) for my budget water loop. currently i have 2 120 MM radiators from danger den prepared and ready to use. a 5 gallon paint bucket res and a garden fountain pump. current total spent is $75

first test assembly of pump and radiators checking for leaks in rads that were freebies.

spacing for my 240MM rad is a no go with this top

more to come after i get the block in and finalize tube length. and radiator placement.

decided it was crap and tried a different run. changing from rad, block, rad ,res to rad, rad, block , res

now the bench mark runs

overall im super happy. took hours and hours but was well worth the time.

for those who were curious yes its still a 5 gallon bucket res.

at the moment yes. this was just the first fill and i am getting all the crap out of the rads and and block. next fill is going to be distilled water with vinegar. final fill will be with plain distilled water.

if you want the coolest temps it might be better to use alcohol since that's what they use in heat pipes. methonol would be better but I don't think it would be easy to find locally.

nah just doing this as i wanted a loop that was A cheep. B easy to drain. and if i truly need to get lower temps i can dump ice into the bucket.

actually did this recently to combat the much higher temp that the water settles to with having so much water and not enough rad space to keep it all cold.

just so you know using ice has a risk of making the water too cold which could result in condensation.

i know
as long as im not crazy with it is should be fine.

I'd just skip the vingear or alcohol additives. Put a lid on that thing so airborne dust don't get in and contaminate it.. Add some real anti-corrosive and only a small amount like drops. Last thing you want is chemicals reacting to the tubing's plasticizers.

the vinager water is a flush fill . will only run for a few min before i empty and replace with straight distilled.

I had a feeling this was going to be an AMD based PC. xD

Not hating. I'm still quietly rooting for AMD. And I think your creation is neat. But, IMO, AMD is synonymous with Budget.

meh had this pc for ages. and im not tossing a good build just to get IPC gains that i dont need. started with 1100T and crosshair IV formula mobo ( killed the mobo being stupid) got the crosshair v. later got an 8350 and put away the 1100T. mom needed a pc (also the server) so i bought a board some ram took one of my storage drives and viola. now i swap the cpus around when i wanna test crap and its all done with a budget that does not hurt.
