Water cooling noob need help

Motherboard and/or CPU just died (probably due to the dead weight of a Nocturnal NH-D14 hanging off of it for years) so I've decided to upgrade and do it big. Grabbing an 8320 or 8350 and a Crosshair V Formula Z AMD ROG board.

Now, I want to do a watercooling build and don't know only but the extreme common sense basics about it. Here's my shopping list, feel free to critique and add or change items.

All in a 900D... I'll worry about a GPU block for my 780 at a later date. Also, I have no idea how much a pump uses for watts, should I be fine with my gold rated corsair 750w? Thanks for reading.

  • Maybe consider getting some quick disconnects.
  • If you're going to spend that much money on water-cooling, upgrade the CPU first.
  • With a 900D you can put multiple radiators in it (top, front, bottom and back I think) if you're interested in incorporating that in your loop.
  • 750W with gold efficiency should be sufficient, but I would get at least 800 W if you plan on going SLI, use multiple storage drives or lots of radiator fans (which you will probably end up using if you use more than one radiator).
