Im deciding on my case now and i cant decide on a case that can hold a dual rad like the h100 or one that i can put a single in such as the h80. I was also wanting to put a fan controller in the front 2 drive bays. so i have been looking at the scout 2,tempest 410 elite, and possibly the phantom 410.
Trying to stay at $100 max i want a window and the only thing thats hloding me back from the phantom is the door. Also for those of you who have fan controllers do you use them alot? Just trying to figure out if its worth getting.
Personally for this is go grab an Bitfenix Shinobi Window for 80$, it has tons of options, looks sweet and supports a lot, plus it has a fancy window that just adds to the overall asthetic.
I have the Phantom 410 and I gotta say, either you love it or you hate it, but I personally love it. IMHO the build quality is pretty good and the door actually really helps with maintaining the aesthetics because I won't be worried about ruining the aesthetics when I add a DVD drive or any other devices that use the 5.25" drive bay. For the fan controller, honestly I don't really use it that much, most of the time I leave it at medium speed. The H100/H100i will fit just fine, but not the Kraken X60 even though it is NZXT product. For single radiator water cooler, something like H80/H80i will fit just fine at rear or top, but the Kraken X40 will have to be mounted at the top because I don't think you can put a 140mm fan at rear. The side window is good enough for me at the moment, but I am thinking of doing some modding, I want it to look like the large window on the Switch 810 side panel because I won't be putting any fan on it. Cable management is quite impressive (I can manage to hide my 24-pin cable because I use NZXT individually sleeved 24-pin extension so it is quite long), though you need to spend some time for non-modular PSU but it is possible to do. Overall, for me it is a pretty damn good case for the price, but if you are more towards clean and sleek looking cases, the Fractal R4 is a very good case, and the window version one is only $110 at newegg right now.
If you are more towards gamer looking cases, you might wanna take a look at the NZXT Tempest 410 Elite. Some of my friends used this with their builds a while back and the only negative thing about this case is the rubber grommets for routing the cables, they came off quite easily. For water cooling, I think it's pretty much the same as the Phantom 410 (120/240mm radiator will fit perfectly, 140/280 might have problems).
Thermaltake's new Chaser A31 also has a large window side panel and quite nice gamer look, but I don't know if it is available in USA. In Asia and some part of Europe, it is available at $80 give or take, and it is pretty good for the price, there is a lot of plastic but once it is loaded it is pretty solid. I live in Asia and last week actually I almost picked this case, but because the white version is not available yet, I picked the Phantom 410 instead.
