I want to get a closed loop water cooler for my system and am not sure what to get.
My system spec is:
CPU-i7-3820
Gpu-Direct cuII 680
mobo-Asus rampage iv extreme
case-CoolerMaster Haf 922
I want somthing that will not get in the way of my quad chanel ram( my current air cooler does).
Any ideas you guys have are appreciated.
Corsair H100i is a safe bet. Should mount to the top as exhaust., and you can repurpose that 200mm exhaust as a side-panel intake.
Alternatively, you can get the Kraken x40 and mount it to the rear exhaust.
The Kraken X60 is supposed to be the best closed loop water cooler on the market right now, but it is a 280mm radiator instead of a 240mm which won't fit in many cases. I'm not even sure if you can fit a 240mm radiator like what the Corsair H100i has in a HAF 922. You might be able to, but you'd have a better idea than I would since you have the case in front of you.
If you can't fit either of those coolers in there, then your best bet is probably going to be the Kraken X40.
The top exhaust for the HAF 922 has mounts for 2x 120mm, so assuming 15mm spacing which is standard these days, the H100i should fit without issue.
The Kraken x40 looks really interseting but i do not know if my case can fit that in the rear exhaust.
well looks like the kraken is out of the question and it looks like other rear exhaust will not work as they seem to obstuct the ram on the intel socet 2011 boards.
