Okay, I watched the Kill Your Console video and you guys seemed really certain it's better for everyone and you'd convince anyone open to try. So I'm genuinely curious to see if you can convince me.

Of 26 I think only 7 were also on PC. Generally the type of games I most enjoy only come to console and the ones exclusive to PC don't interest me usually.
The only games only on PC that at all tempt me are Amnesia and Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming (if I want the English version). I am completely open to trying games people think I will enjoy based on the favourites I've given though.
Don't have a gaming PC, but have PCs definitely good enough for emulating up to PS2 gen and able to at least play current PC games reasonably. But I'm curious if people can show me anything that'll make me want the PC experience over the games I love that you find on home console.
Since you are posting here, I would imagine that you are considering switching to PC or gaming more on PC. So, what you should be doing is not looking for a few AAA console titles... You should be asking everyone this: "Based upon the list of games I like, recommend some PC games for me." Your horizons will be expanded, you will find some games that are more nuanced and less mainstream (more geared to your tastes), and you will be a better person.
Yeah, those games are mainly made for consoles (except the ones like portal). PC games are already unstable enough and if you try to emulate them you're just going to have a horrible time unless you have really good patience.
Yeah like Logan said, you need to adapt not emulate, and your best bet is to have one console and one pc (for your situation), i'm gonna get the ps4 one day since i've heard that beyond: two souls is gonna be on it and that the last of us is already on it, all i need now is for some sort of uncharted trilogy pack to come out on it and i'll super happy.
Only come to the PC world if you want better graphics and better frame rates and if you don't want to be controlled by anything (i.e. xbox live subscriptions and bad support and overpriced games etc.
Stick with consoles if you hate glitches and want your machine to run everyday all day reliably and don't care about how ugly the graphics are and frame rate (in comparison to PCs). Also if you like the simplicity of it, just buying the xbox/playstation/nintendo and plugging it into the wall and tv, putting the disk in and then that's that , it's working forever, then stick with consoles.
No one is forcing you to join the PC gaming Platform, I would call Logan's "Kill Your Console" Videos more of a Suggestions Video, And he Does state MORE Pro's than Cons in the video of the PC platform which in a way i felt was wrong, he should be equal and mention "You won't be able to Trade your games or lend them out on PC". and Technically you can lend out your games but you need to buy your games from G.O.G but Honestly they don't have Everything. also Some of the PC Cons are much more reasonable than the Cons that the Consoles have. Example Paying to play online, which lets be real you are already paying for internet why are you paying sony or Microsoft to Play Online?
If you can have both (PC and Console) than More power to You. Honestly though this New Generation of Consoles were a HUGE disappointment.... You are Paying 400+ Dollars to play at 720P-900P for the next 10 Years when PC gamers have been playing at 1080P for Years. and really Microsoft was more of a Disappointment. Sony is actually reasonable.
The biggest Misconception of PC gaming is that its Bloody Expensive. and No its not. you can get an Impeccable 1080p Gaming PC for 500 to 700 bucks if you know How to Work Around your Budget. Also Console Gamers have no Right to complain about that being expensive when you add in the Cost of Taxes, a Few Games and Subscription to Xbox live or PS Plus. which will probably Jump to 600 or 700 Bucks if you bought your PS4 or Xbone.
I would Suggest you watch this video as it is informative and it Proves my Point.
Well yes, recommendations based on the games I listed is what I'm looking for.
Largely there are 2 things I'm looking to get out of this:
First and foremost is games I'd enjoy, which I genuinely believe people can direct me to on PC that's not really in doubt.
Second is if I can find any reason to focus more on an actual gaming PC than consoles, which I'm not as sure I'll find. Most of the games I expect I'll enjoy are indie games which I'd assume won't need a very high end PC.
From the video all I really felt you'd presented in regard to the second point was high end graphics for certain games and large modding possibilities for games that usually I don't get a large amount out of, such as shooters and westerns RPGs. So atm I still believe I'd be better maintaining console gaming and just having a reasonably good PC, but I am genuinely open to people convincing me otherwise on that second point.
The only reason I pointed out how few of the games I listed are on PC was to highlight that as far as I know, the games I mostly gravitate towards are on consoles primarily, and I don't know of anything on PC to make me want to focus on that over my consoles. Also as a slight aside point, I'd say only half my list was AAA games at most, but I guess it's an ill defined term but a good number of what I listed definitely isn't "mainstream".
Huh, okay, for some reason I didn't even see any of the replies beyond Logan's until I made my second post... even though according to timestamp some should have been there before I started typing my reply.
Anyway, most of what I said works as a general reply for everyone though. Recommendations based on the games I've listed would be nice and I'd definitely like some. Also if there are games people can use to make me consider putting together a high end PC instead of sticking with what I have I'm open to it.
As far as game recs go, just keep in mind I'm usually not a fan of shooters, western RPGs or RTS games. Though there are rare exceptions with most of those, so I will try games of those genres if people really think they're for me.
The Witcher - a PC Classic with HUGE emphasis on Story.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - This is a Futuristic Sci-Fi RPG with FPS elements. The game does have an Excellent Story, Not as much as the Very First one [This being the Third Deus Ex but story wise its a Prequel] But its a Good One.
Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines - This is a Memorable RPG with a Cult following that has excellent Gameplay and Memorable Story, (Go meet Jack and Jeanette :) ) [Word of Warning the Game is buggy and You need to Install an Unofficial Patch its Fairly Simple and it gets Rid of the Bugs]
Skyrim - The Original Elder Scrolls were First Released on PC then Bethesda decided to expand their Horizons and Bring it to Consoles. I Digress. Either Way This Game Modded with Graphics Textures and ENB's makes this Game Flawlessly Beautiful its almost Ridiculous. Also you can install Mods to Remove the "Consoleitis" (Consoleitis by Definition is Taking a Game and Handcuffing you down to the point where the game doesn't feel challenging, Stuff Like Showing You how to get to Places) [Go LOOK AT YOUR MAP AND FIND IT YOURSELF] lol
Of those Witcher seems like the one I'd most enjoy so I'll probably try and give that a shot over the next few days. Might try Vampire after it.
With Deus Ex and Skyrim, I've always been very aware of both games, but I'm not sure either is for me. I'm more inclined to try Deus Ex since it has a story focus, though I generally am pretty bad with FPS games. Skyrim though I'm really not sure is for me. I'm mostly indifferent to the kind of gameplay it offers, and afaik there's very little in terms of a main campaign if I'm not playing it purely for the freedom and gameplay it offers?
You're not going to get playstation exclusives on the PC, that's why they're called exclusives. But you can find games of those genres on PC (I see a lot of fighting games on your list). There are entire genres that are (with one or two exceptions) exclusive to PC such as RTS's and MMO's. These are genre's that you really don't even get to try on a console. The modding community is also much bigger on PC's than consoles. This really wouldn't have been a selling point for me before I got into pc gaming, but after I switched and picked up oblivion, I can honestly say mods are the biggest reason why I prefer to play on a PC. Mods and the fact that I prefer mouse and keyboard to a controller. The only time I fire up my xbox is when I have company over.
And here is one advantage to PC gaming, all of the PC games I have ever purchased (I have some that were released in the late 90's!) still work on my PC. Your PS2/3 games won't work on the ps4, xbox/360 games won't work on Xbox One, and N64 games won't work on the wii u. In fact you can play more console games on the PC through emulation than any console when you think about it. I guess my point is that if you choose to get a PS4, you will only be able to play one of those games you listed as opposed to the 7 you could play on PC. To be honest, I think it is a little unfair that you are comparing four platforms to one. If you can afford to have 4 consoles, why can't you just get a PC and one other console (PS4?) instead?
I would also like to state something for the record. I'm not sure how I feel about trying to compare a $450-$550 "console-killer" pc to a ps4. The truth is I would probably rather game on a ps4. The way I view a gaming PC is as follows: Everyone needs a computer. Everyone with a game console in their house also has a computer. If you are spending ~$500 on a computer(I think the average computer costs more than this but we'll use this as a rough figure) and $400 on a console, why should you try and replace your console with a $500 computer? I think it makes more sense to take the money that you would have otherwise spent on a console and invest it in a better graphics card, bigger power supply, and maybe a faster cpu the next time you are looking for a computer. Now you have the budget to build a very decent gaming rig far superior to what consoles give you. Here is an example of what you could build for $900: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wbFGbv . That build would completely demolish the PS4 or xbox one. If you already have a relatively modern desktop you could also just spend $400 upgrading what you have.
Since I'm looking for recommendations in general and not just comparative to last console gen it's probably better to offer this. 25 of my favourite games in general (in no particular order):
If you play the witcher 2 and don't like it you're a bad person! I kid. It's a very mature game and doesn't hold your hand like most games do.
You should definitely give skyrim a go. It sounds like you haven't even tried it. I can understand why some people wouldn't like it, but believe it or not skyrim is more than just wandering aimlessly through a tundra. It's a game that can move as fast or slow as you want really. I personally love it because it offers endless distractions and possiblilites. It also doesn't force you to do anything. Yes the "main" story line is sort of weak, but it is a game with many different story lines. Your story doesn't have to be that of a savior, you could take a totally different path and be a vampire lord with your own castle or the leader of a mead hall full of soldiers for hire. I can't think of any other game outside of the elderscrolls/fallout series with a world so malleable. Now when you take into account the mods (and there are far more than graphics mods. there are entire storylines available for free as mods that are fully voice acted and everything) you will have an experience that is utterly unique to anyone else.
If you are interested in a game that revolves around one very strong story, I would recommend dragon age: origins. For the love of all that is good do not start out with the second game. It was a major letdown. It doesn't have the freedom or openness of an elderscrolls or fallout game, but the tradeoff is more focus on plot. The character development is great as well. I know it is a cross-platform game, but I feel it is a style of game that plays better with a mouse and keyboard than with a controller.
Yeah, unfortunately RTS and MMOs are by and large not my style. I've barely played any RTS games admittedly but I really just do not take to them, like at all.
MMOs I've put several hours into a few in the past and for the most part it's not really my scene. I wouldn't say I dislike them, but I would say I don't like them enough to have real incentive to play them.
The console comparison was more, "is there anything exclusive to PC that you think I'd care as much about as these games enough to make me want to put together a gaming PC more". I already have a reasonably good PC. I have 2 a desktop and a laptop. The desktop was pretty good when I put it together several years ago, but obviously now isn't great, the laptop is good but being a laptop I can't really partially upgrade it much. But laptop is good enough to emulate any system that can be emulated really and play back current PC games acceptably. Plus all my old consoles still work fine anyway and I have pretty much every mainline console.
The way I look at it is more, that gaming PC would be at the expense of say a console, or a high end tablet I might get. So there has to be something to make me actually want it. Something more substantial than a tiny number of games that fall into my interest will look better. I mean if I find a reasonable number that interests me in that way I'd go for it, but not for only a few, when I'd still be able to play them anyway, just in a somewhat lower quality.
Atm I already have a PS4 and WiiU, but Scalebound is now making me tempted for an Xbone depending on how the finished game is. So the reasons for putting this PC together would have to outweigh Scalebound, the couple of other Xbone games I want slightly less strongly and the future games the system will probably get I'll enjoy too.
I understand where you're coming from. Honestly I don't really care for most of the games you have listed so it's hard for me to list PC games that you would be interested in, all I can really do is share why I prefer PC gaming. Computers are also my hobby, so gaming on my computer extends the value of my hobby. I would be building my own computers even if they didn't have many games for PC, I just wouldn't invest as much in a GPU. The fact that I can invest just a little bit more into my hobby and have a great gaming platform as well is just a double bonus for me. My favorite genre's are RPG and FPS so there is no shortage of games for me to enjoy. That won't be the case for everyone though, and that's OK too. I'm not saying there aren't a bunch of great games for you, I just don't know what they would be.
Yeah Skyrim I haven't tried since for the most part I'm not that big on western RPGs (which most of these recommendations seem to be anyway =P).
Admittedly I did find myself liking Fable 1 a lot (though 2 was ass), so it's not like I never like the games. I'll say I'll maybe give Skyrim a shot depending upon how long I am with the other recommendations that I'm more inclined to try, but at the moment I'm not convinced I'll take to it.
If you are into Japanese games you will probably find little about PC gaming compelling then. Japanese devs don't care about PC gaming. At all. PC gaming is a very niche segment in Japan.
EDIT: Have you played any bioware games? If you like a good story I would think you would love bioware games. Their story lines (not including Dragon Age 2 or Mass Effect 3) are amazing. And the other two games still had pretty good story lines, they just didn't live up to the Bioware standard IMO
I would like to point out that many ps2, wii , game cube, gameboy, nintendo ds,psp, ps1, n64 snes, nes, sega cd, genesis, dream cast etc are all playable on pc via emulator. its verry easy, unlike what beheeemoth stated.
I am very much into Japanese games, but not exclusively so. As an example there's still western games like Prince of Persia (2008), Batman: Arkham City, Flower, Journey, Portal 1-2 and Uncharted series I listed as favourites, and plenty others I didn't list that I still like a lot (like Rayman, MediEvil and Crash to name a few).
As far as BioWare goes, I tried out Mass Effect 1 and it was one of the factors in me pulling away from WRPGs. Though a couple of friends have pushed me to try again, especially given one of my primary issues (though not only issue) was the Mako tank just being fucking horrible and causing me to give up, which they swear is awful for everyone but it's worth pressing on. And not an issue in 2 or 3 apparently. Only other BioWare game I've played is Sonic Chronicles, which is one of the worst things I've ever played, but in their defence that was very much not a main BioWare dev team on the game and most of the things they did with the game were just terrible on a conceptual level so it'd have been hard to make it worthwhile.
As far as emulation goes I'm fine in that regard. Have a PC good enough to emulate anything I want really. I emulate fairly frequently without issue, know what I'm doing in that regard. Plus I still have most of the consoles themselves as well anyway.
