Warframe

So basically all I did this past weekend was get back into Warframe. I played Destiny on Xbox One and it just isn't my speed. Slow and terrible loot grind and pretty generic FPS gameplay to boot. Now a little background, I played this game back in 2012 when it first came out, and it was terrible. NO variety to speak of, enemies were generic and just endless clones of one guy, and the systems weren't fully fleshed out into what they are now. It's a completely free game, and what you pay for is cosmetic upgrades and basically time saving shortcuts. (you can pay for weapons/frames with real money etc.) Which I think is a perfectly fair way to do a F2P model. As to how it actually plays, its stylish and original. Great variety in enemies, and the weapons and customization are pretty much endless. Vast and really deep progression. Just a great game. It's grindy, but the grind is fun and engaging and keeps me coming back. So! There is a Tek clan getting started, @Zypher720 is the human to talk to about that. And this is my referral link if you want to give it a try! https://t.co/saqmukOKzd (feel free to post your own) Just wanted to share the fun! (and also get some nice stuff from it ;) )

I'm pretty hooked on Warframe at the moment. I only started playing it a few weeks ago I think, but it has been really fun. I noticed that a lot of youtubers were getting back into it, so I decided to give it a go. My Valkyr frame just got done cooking yesterday, so I'm excited to try her out :D

they just reworked her, you can go full rage on berserker 100% of the time now with the correct mods

Yeah I wanted to get a good melee frame, so I did some research and Valkyr looked like a great pick. I've heard that shes pretty OP at the moment, so I'm hoping they don't nerf her in the near future :D I'm planning on getting the Galatine great-sword once I get enough mastery to run the Rank 3 test.

Warframe is defintely a good game and has improved tremendously over the past 2 years. I started playing Update 11/12 on PS4 (basically at the time when the console came out in Nov. 2013) and have sunked about 300 hours in the games. Could have been a lot more if it wasn't for college.

That being said, I have been taking a big break from the game. Partially due to the fact that I am actually acquiring enough funds to get a PC and I will play Warframe there (will have to start all over but I can manage. I am most likely going to skip the grind with platinum), but also I just don't like how the devs don't shift some of their efforts into the old content of the game but rather add new content that just feels half-assed. I haven't tried the Focus system yet after the Second Dream quest, but I think it is safe to assume it is not fleshed out well (If I am wrong, please correct me).

Warframe is a good game, but I think it could be an even greater game if there was more focus on refining or overhauling some of its base foundations and content we already have. Things like Invasions, Syndicates, Mod system, and more could all use a good refinement and expansion. When Parkour 2.0 came out, that was an actual mechanic that made Warframe much more fun for me as it completely overhaul the parkour system that was largely a means to an end to reach a location, kinda made you look cool and nothing else. Parkour now not only makes moving around fun, makes you look badass, but also viable against enemies. I can say the same thing for shotguns in this game. Before the overhaul, they basically sucked except a few weapons. Now, they are awesome and fun to use.

Of course, I understand that since it is a F2P game, they have to add some new content to keep players interested as that is what gives them money.

Sorry I went a long ramble on that.
