Want to cool my 960 for OC

Using a factory intell CPU cooler my 960 is 80 celsius under load, and 60 celsius at idle.

In your own opinion what option would you take to resolve the problem for long term gaming for LGA 1366 socket?

Goal: 4.0 GHZ 60 celsius under load.

A better CPU cooler.

Bingo, couldn't have said it better myself.

Not much more to say.

Guys I know that much lol. Which one would fit my needs for a LGA 1366? That's where to opinion is coming from.

I know people are talking about the Noctua tower, but don't know if $80 is worth the money on a 5 year old system.

Budget? You could get a $30 Hyper 212 Evo or a $2000 insane overkill custom loop.

I'm aiming for air cool. to late in the mix for water cool systems, I'd have to rewire my whole rig, plus upgrade the case for room.

$30 sounds good. I'm not cheap, but it's a old system.

There are many options, a low/mid end cooler such as a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

A High end air cooler such as a Noctua NH-D14

You can get a low end Pre filled water coling loop such as a Corsair h50

You can also get a high end pre filled loop such as a swifttech H220 or a Corsair h110

OR you can make your own loop costing as much as $2000 (Or about as little as $300)

It depends on your budget really :P

Here is a $50 air cooler that looks alot nicer (IMO) than a CM hyper 212 EVO.

And cools better too. Also from what I hear is easier to install.'

Thanks for sharing, but it needs to be 1366.

The dark knight II is compatible with it.

This is straight from newegg

Compatibility: Intel Socket: LGA 2011 / 1366 / 1156 / 1155 / 775/ LGA1150 Haswell Compatible

Aww ok thanks. Not looking forward to pulling the motherboard, but if I want to gaming PC using my old x58/960 I'm going have to do some OC.
