VMware vSphere 6: Install, Configure, Manage training

I've been working as a government contractor for about 10 months and have been working with VMware stuff for the last 8. I now have the opportunity to take some training courses and get VCP certified. I was just wondering if anyone has this training and certifications and what their experience has been?

I've not done the training or qualifications for vsphere but there seems to be plenty of info and blog posts out there. Many vendors also write whitepapers about using their software optimally when running on VM's. Plenty of large corps rely on VMware so job prospects should be good.

First of all, you need to take a mandatory training course. I just passed the Foundations exam last month. This is not a complex exam (you'll have to study a bit depending on your experience) but the second one is far more complicated. There are sample exams so you can get a grasp on how they are. Virtualization is a widely spread technology these days, but note that cloud computing is getting a lot of traction lately as well. So from a professional perspective, it may depend on your environment.

Thanks for the input. I have about 8 months of experience working with vSphere and View 5.5 and 6.0 but it's mostly teaching myself through Google searches. I plan on taking the VCA test soon and once I am through the VMware install, configure, manage training, I'll get a voucher to take the VCP test but I don't know if I'm quite ready for that. I don't even know what kind of questions to expect on that exam. I'll be doing more research before then.

I have the opportunity to take pretty much all of the VMware training without having to pay for it. These classes are around $4k so I'm going to try and take advantage of this and do them all, if I can.
