Hi,
I’m currently on the hunt for some VM software that will allow me to assign two physical gigabit network ports to one VM.
I have a HP micro server (upgraded) I would like to create two VMs, one would be a PFsense firewall (Thus the two ports) and another would be a simple file server.
After watching the Proxmox video I had hoped to see a bit more on the network side of it but that might not be the software I require!
Any suggestions let me know! Thanks
I haven't used any VM software which hasn't allowed you to do that. I haven't used proxmox but I'd be pretty surprised if you couldn't assign another network interface to a VM.
Were you thinking something like hardware passthrough or something like a bridge? I don't know of any VM software that won't let you bridge to as many physical (or virtual) NICs as you want. KVM, Xen, VMware, and even Virtualbox.
Interesting! I'll have a look! Never used VMs outside of a host. Thanks
