Found a VisionTek Radeon R9 390x for $10CAD more than a MSI Radeon R9 390. I had my heart set on the MSI 390 but the price of the VisionTek 390x seems too good to be true. I know MSI makes high quality components. Are VisionTek any good?
I think Jayztwocents suggests Visiontek, if only because, like XFX, they offer limited lifetime warranties on at least some of their products. So, as long as you register the product within 30 days of being bought, and the product is still being manufactured, you have warranty on your investment. Again, though I can't remember if this is all of their products, or only some.
Anyway, they are a US-based company, and I think they actually make GPUs. However, other than their "cryovenom" product line, which come equipped with a waterblocked, I do not think they have any sort of special binning process. Their aftermarket cooling solutions, at least the ones of the latest generations, borrow a lot from HiS (Hightech Information Systems) cooling. (Who, not-so-coinsedently, uses Visiontek PCB, if I recall correctly.)
EDIT - Visiontek Cryovenom R9 290
Visiontek has been making AMD/ATI cards a LONG time. Ive had a few of there cards through the years. Their never the highest clocked or the coolest looking but there a good card.
I dont think that they are bad.
like @Camdex allready said, Visiontek makes Radeon cards for a very long time allready.
if u live in america, it is a great product since visiontek is american based company and im pretty sure their support would be very fast! but msi r9 390 looks darn good, its upto u m8 8/8 im ri8 gud ni8
