now I noticed you mentioned a thinkpad
there’s many different independent software virtualization … “softwares?” that you could be using, you need to pick one.
If you’re going for GPU passthrough, then KVM+virtio+qemu (free / opensource technology) is what you probably should be using, it’s what most people use. (other option being vmware esxi, … virtualbox does’t really do passthrough).
