I need a replacement for VirtualBox. I am really sick of not being able to drag and drop to older Linux virtual machine installations. I need to test their functionality.
I am running Windows 7, so I need something that is compatible for that.

For Win-7, you’re out of options really fast I’m afraid. Alternatively, you may switch to Linux and have a Win-7 VM for your daily tasks. No idea how that fits your workflow but that’s for you to decide ![]()
Gave VMware and QEMU a shot
Couldn’t get drag and drop working with VMWare
Couldn’t even find a way to open QEMU once it was finished installing
Let’s suggest another approach: Have you got virtual network cards defined for these VM’s and can you browse to SMB shares on the host Win7 from within the VBox Linux guests?
