Virtual machine and file server

I currently have a freenas box running plex and backing my files to, but I would like do a bit more. I want to run VM's on my server as well as run plex and do the same file storage features of freenas.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use?

You can run VM's on FreeNAS as long as you have the hardware resources. You can add a Virtual Box jail. I did it once just to play around with but I haven't used it for anything productive.
