I live in Thailand and I use hotspot shield. It works fine for hulu and youtube. I tried cyberghost, but too slow. Hotspot shield only gives you an address in USA (and maybe Uk if you want). It is free, but sometimes the ads are annoying.
That wont work for his situation. He is attempting to view Japanese copyrighted material that has been region restricted to Japan only. As Sony Music Entertainment is an asshat when it comes to copyrighted music from Japan, they only want Japanese people to see the content from their youtube channel. In order for him to view the content he is going to need an IP address from Japan or use a Proxy Server that is within Japan so that youtube only sees a Japanese IP address.

The problem with proxies is that they will see the information you're exchanging with the internet, and often you don't know whether these companies that run them are anywhere near trustworthy. So as long as you realize what you're doing, that's fine.
A common easy to use proxy that works quite well is Stealthy, with is a Firefox add-on, and you can select the country you want to use a proxy in by entering the country code.
proxmate is a chrome plugin and works great.
Set up a VPN. Plus you can *cough* get cheap steam games *cough* under a russian VPN
None of those add-ons work. I would rather not have to buy a VPN to download / view a video..
Can't really help you then unless you want to Torrent the music from the video. You pretty much HAVE to have a Japanese IP address for youtube to allow you to view the content.
