Video card

Hey guys!

There's a desktop my parents have. I bought new parts so i didn't need my GPU and PSU anymore. When I tried to install them both, all I got on the monitor was a black screen. The PC worked fine with the integrated output for video that is on the motherboard, and it worked like it did after i took out my PSU and GPU and hooked up the old stuff the PC came with before-hand.

Any ideas as to how I can get the computer to recognize the new GPU? I can't get into the mobo's BIOS after I put in the new GPU.

The GPU is an ATI Radeon HD 5750

boot up into bios using onboard video.

go into bios and disable onboard video or tell it to prefer PCI-e video or something like that

shut down

install gpu

reboot.

Might be a silly question but did you plug in the 6-pin power to the GPU?

In fact I did remember that :P

OH shit alright. I'll do that!
