Video card initial Resolution to large

Video card: GTX 780

max Monitor Resolution: 1600x900

on start up, i get a message on my monitor saying the resolution is out of range, and so im using my older video card, as my mother board didn't have a VGA slot. Im kinda clueless now, and everything helps.

it should use whatever the os has it set at, do you have a spare digital tv or anything that you can use to boot it up and change the resolution of the monitor on the other screen

hi there,

Start Windows -> uninstall graphic card driver -> Change the card (old one out/new one in) -> Windows should start in standart resolution (800x600 i think) -> Install the driver for the new card -> Problem should be Solved ;)

can you be more specific with those step by steps?

Out of rainge is a HDMI error (your monitor not supporting the standard HDMI seting set up by windows)

So i need a new monitor?

Would one of these work?

No you dont need a new monitor you need to use DVI/VGA to get in to windows and set up the HDMI to what your monitor use's in the control center (amd or nvidia center) then the next time you use HDMI it will work.

But if you are useing GTX 780 i'd at least get a 1080p monitor...

I plan on buying a 1080p monitor, but can i make it work on this monitor? can you help me, step by step?

1. Start windows. Go to the control panel and then to programs a featchers and uninstall the Nvidia drivers. 2. turn off the computer and install the GTX 780 and. 3. Boot the system it should start up at a default realization of 800 x 600. 4. go to Nvidia.com and download the latest driver for the GTX 780 and install them. The drivers will see the display and chose the proper realization.
