So I previously ripped my home movies, etc from VHS to HDD on my laptop a few years back using: Multi-system VCR, multi-system signal converter, Pinnacle Studio movieBox Ultimate edition, and my dual core laptop w/ an nVidia chipset and 256mb VRAM. After having done that I realized that I didn't like the way I did it and want to simply make whole cassette rips. I tried to split it up based on content at the time of ripping and should have just done it afterwards in my video editor.
When I was designing my current machine I took this into account when deciding on the GPU, But...$$$ stalled and all I have right now is the iGPU (as said on the tech recently) on my 3770k with 1,768mb of system RAM allocated to it. I'm not worried about system RAM as I still have >14Gb left, but I'm unsure of whether this will go smoothly or not with an APU setup (vs CPU + GPU).
Details of the system in my profile, but:
3770k, stock speed
16Gb 1600Mhz DDR3
Win7 x64
