Vendor Roll-call. (What brands have you owned?)

I'm just curious as to what all brands you guys have purchased and have experience with, when it comes to GPUs.

Sapphire and EVGA. I had a zotac for a very brief time too

Gigabyte GTX 780
-Very good, keep the card cool except in Kombuster.

Asus- 7970 DCUII, 2X R9 290s DCUII
EVGA- GTX 650 Ti SSC, GTX 970 ACX, GTX 670, 8800 GTX
PNY- GT 240
Gigabyte- R9 270 Windforce
HIS- 7870 IceQ
Sapphire- 4870, R9 290 VaporX

I think that's it. Prob some older cards I forgot.

ATI - Radeon 9800GT - cant remember
nVidia 8800GTX - XFX
nVidia GTX275 - Gigabyte
AMD HD 6950 - Powercolor (had 2 in xfire)
nVidia GTX680 - Gigabyte (windforce5 - shat itself in 3 days so replaced it with.....)
nVidia GTX770 - EVGA superclocked ACX 2gb
nVidia GTX980 - EVGA superclocked ACX 2.0 4gb <------ current card

Asus GTX 240
HIS Radeon 5670
Refurbed (I think) nVidia GTX 550Ti
MSI Twin Frozor 650 Ti Boost (best looking card I will ever own)

Gigabyte (amd 290x)
Crap... Crap... Crap...
Though I never owned any GPU's prior 290x but I have very good opinion on their mobos. I have owned plenty in past.

Asus (amd 6970, 7970)
Good, Good, new ones are crap... (DirectCU II, Matrix)

Diamond
(6950, 3DFX VooDoo2)
Good Quality.

Trident
8900C, and 2 others later models
Were very good.

Savage (S3 and some I forgotten)
They were good.

Sis integrated graphics
Crap.

EVGA (nv 480 GTX)
Good, but was overheating.

HIS (9800 radeon)
Good. They had better cooling than others.

PNY (nv 240 GT)
Crap for crap. Never owned many cards from them

Sapphire (8500 Radeon)
Good.

ATi (ATi Rage 128 All-In-Wonder, and some older)
Over 9000!

Powercolor (9200 radeon, 290x)
previous were shit, now v good.

MSI (ati x1800xt, 290x lighting)
crap, new ones are good lighting edition.

XFX (nv 8800gtx)
fair.

Palit (nv 7600GS)
oc this as f*ck.

and more but don't remember...

MSI - 6450 (lol)
EVGA - 770 / 980
Sapphire - 290
BFG - 6800GT (agp, still have it)

Friends: MSI 780lighting

diamond, matrox, his, gigabyte, evga, asus, gainward.... geez all of em except for probably galax & pny.

Sapphire - R9-290
ASUS - R9-270x
EVGA - GTX 770

In recent years, I have owned:

ASUS Radeon HD 6870 - Good, but couldn't overclock worth a damn.
EVGA GTX 460 FPB edition - Great overclocker, but poor cooling design.
HiS R9 280X - good, overall, although the aesthetics were not for everything.
EVGA GTX 670 FTW edition - Great, but the stacked power connectors is the stupidest idea known to mankind.

I have recently got a hold of an XFX R9 280X Black Edition , and I have to say that it has probably been the most impressive of the bunch.

Oh boy.

PALIT GTX 570 - Had this card for years until early this year. Great card with high heat output.
Gigabyte GTX 670 - Had this for less than a week before upgrading too...
Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming - Had this for a month. Great card but wanted more.
Gigabyte GTX 980 G1 Gaming (Current)

nVidia... Radeon HD 6850?

Any way I am not fancy like him. Although I do have a touch of Stupid Black Magic going on.

ASUS:
HD 5450 (bought as a backup fail card)

MSi:
HD 7870 Hawk (best looking card I have owned currently in my brothers PC)
HD 7850 1GB (in waiting for something to do, maybe HTPC)

ATi:
X1200 (in the laptop I am currently using, slow but gets the job done)
X1400 (although it could be x1600 or x1800 I can't remember I put it in a dell it was the first time I saw stars in the sky of minecraft)

Sapphire:
R9 290 Tri-X OC 4GB

My bad, that's supposed to be in MSI. With so many cards, it's hard to get them all straight.

Fixed now.

Any notable experiences with any of them? Any that stood out as exceptional?

HIS Radeon HD 6950 2GB IceQ Turbo
Overclocked like a champ and ran as quiet and as cool as a Cayman GPU could on air. It even supported the 6970 shaders, which I assumed wasn't possible for non-reference cards at the time. It died after 4 years, which I mostly owe to using custom bios and those disabled shader units.

EVGA GTX 970 ACX 2.0 SC
This thing was garbage. It was loud, hot, had insane inductor noise, and was a terrible overclocker. I ended up using EVGA's upgrade program to get the

EVGA GTX 970 ACX 2.0 FTW+
This is the Card EVGA should have made from the start. It actually has a properly designed heatsink unlike the original versions and the power delivery is no longer the weakest among it's competition. Overall, the build quality is noticeably improved

Asus for AMD cards and EVGA for Nvidia.
