Vega and Titan X Pascal

This literally tells you nothing.

Wow at one point in Doom Vulkan was close to a Titan XP. They could have been staring at the wall for all you know. Averages could be very different. Plus this title is heavily skewed AMD so this doesn't say much of anything. Hell thats a Fury beating a 1070 where it never comes close anywhere else. Let's chill with the hype. I like AyyyMD too but wee need to wait

SO

Wait for Benchmarks
Bench for Waitmarks

Rumors say, that we are looking at May release date.
Numbers, released now are completely irrelevant. They are going to make so many hardware changes - clock speeds, some additional card design changes, hardware optimizations, not to mention drivers. Until May their drivers will improve massively. Or will not.
Those numbers just tell us "this is a thing we have working properly, at this early stage we are targeting it at the high end." Nothing more. They are just showing us they are trying to compete with 1080.
Keeping Fury X in mind, i will not believe anything until release reviews from here and there.

I ain't hate hating. I would love to see some comp.. but seriously take a look at the fury x. It's not that inconceivable to think that Vega might even beat the Titan x Pascal.

when was this bench taken on?

Don't expect Vega to try and compete with Titan XP. They won't. They are solely aiming at GTX 1080 and lower. I don't beleive AMD should try to take on Titan considering the investment they would need to come up with a card like that for a very small market. I perfer they compete with GTX 1080 with performance and aggressive pricing.

So cool your comparing a one moment fps number to an average. Like that means anything at all.

100% this.

Lmao I simply just thought it was interesting. Nothing wrong with that.

Snake Pliskin is now Mark Bench?

No, there isn't, but but it's just pointless. It is interesting what Vega will be able to do, since more and more games move towards AMD optimisation, rather than Nvidia optimisation... Bethesda have stated, PRAY will be AMD optimized. Bethesda are notoriasly Nvidia Company.

Ubisoft have stated the same.
But here is the thing - we have 4 more months before Vega comes out. Any number today means nothing.
If Vega wants to compete with Titan Xp they should have destroyed TitanXp in Vulkan, and they are behind it. Adored TV had a nice point in his video. Vulkan bumps up on average around 20% on AMD, so subtract 20% and you will see Vega is behind 1080... And nobody wants that.

My goal is to troll. The power is strong in it.

People are currently way way more trollable on Ryzen theme. Vega is too far away to be successful trolling...

Coming from an Intel/Nvidia builder.. I for the first time in quiet a while am optimistic on what we will be seeing.

If that is the goal for this topic,
Then i very well might just close it i guess?
There isnt really that much to say about vega yet.

I'm surprised how well the Fury and FuryX are doing, and terrible the 980Ti is. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a FuryX and a 1080.

Looks like the 1080Ti would have to be at least as fast as the Titan X to be better than Vega.

Recently Nvidia have pooped all over their drivers. Almost every time they release new drivers, the release a hot fix a couple days later. And as Nvidia likes to do, they ignore 900 series as soon as 1000 series is out. Guess what will happen to 1060 and 1070 when 1100 series comes out. FuryX and 480 will have a field day with them. Amd still updates drivers for its 7000 series. Nvidia have stopped updating the drivers for their 600 series 3 years ago...

Did you forget your happy pie?

Well stated. I concur.

I've had rock's thro0wn at me for saying such things, but it just makes sense. Why try to garner 1% of the GPU market when they are clearly trying to get you to buy more cards with improved scaling Multi-GPU, which is fine if adopted and implemented properly

This mean Vega will be slower than a 1080 in other games. D:
