Valve vs TellTale?

so my friend was trying to say how much better telltale is than valve but i want your guys opinion on this. who wins?

Valve because Linux support but your mileage may vary.

Let's see... Valve the company responsible for Half Life and Half Life 2 which might be the most important games of our time being that if they didn't exist then there would be no Counter Strike, Portal, Team Fortress 2, Garry's Mod and many many many many others. The company that made Steam, you know that thing that has more users than Xbox live and is well known as the destroyer of wallets because of its awesome sales.

Versus

Telltale, they made some games that people question whether they are actual games or just interactive story books.

Is this a troll thread? It feels like a troll thread.

I'd say there's no "winner". It depends on what you're enjoying more: 1st person shooters or adventures.

TellTale because they still makes games instead of working on a stupid OS that no one is going to use.

You sound butt hurt.

Telltale sells its games on Steam, which is owned by Valve. Until Telltale has its own distribution platform with near 100 million users there is no contest.

Last time I checked, the internet wont break once Telltale releases a game. Can you imagine the internet once Half Life 3 is announced?

(Not to hate on Telltale, I love their games)

All I'm saying is TellTale still make good games while Valve waste all it's time and money building on OS that less then 2% of the market uses that has access to about 10% of the current games on that market.

It's a waste of time and the reason while they will never develop HL3, or Portal 3.

Well Chrome OS has about 5% desktop share by itself Android owns the mobile market. Linux dominates the Server and smart TV/Box market. Doesn't seem to far fetched it will take desktop.

Also Valve still makes and maintains its games TF2 and HL2 still get updates. Their level of product support is some of the best in the industry. They released CS Go not that long ago.

I like Tell Tale's games, but there is really no comparing them to Valve.

Chrome OS comes per-installed, Android comes per-installed, nobody cares about what OS their TV box is using and aren't going to be using it for anything else other then what it was built for.

for the desktop market all pre-builts and laptops come installed with Windows so  that's what people use and are used too.  The average consumer doesn't want to learn or go through the hassle to install and learn how to use Linux especially when they already have something they are used too and all their old software already runs on.

What was the last game developed by Valve that wasn't a sequel or a mod they bought the rights too?

I'm pretty sure that was Portal back in 07.  Take off your fan boy goggles, Valve hasn't done a worthwhile game in almost 8 years.

And steam boxes will come with their OS pre installed so your argument is moot.

It would make more sense to compare Valve to Sony or Microsoft than to TellTale.

It is like trying to compare the mom and pop shop to Amazon. It isn't the same thing.

Who is the steam box for exactly?  It's seems pretty worthless to me.  It's a riced out stream box with a OS installed that most of the software you would use doesn't work.

Except Sony and Microsoft are hardware manufactures as well.

The title of the thread is "Valve vs Telltale" and if I had to pick which one I would want to continue existing I would choose Telltale because they provide quality software to the industry while Valve provides DRM and shitty "Praise GabeN" memes.

I am back this up to the IP argument

Almost all Tell Tale games are based on Licensed IPs so lack of original content is really a ding against both companies.

You sound like one of the people who said "Android will never succeed because no one wants Linux on their phone"

He is just pissed because he invested $100 on a license for WinDOS. Valve anyday, and not just for their Linux support. The only good telltale game I've played is Poker Night 2.

Who's going to buy an Xbox or ps when they can have a Steam box for $300? The retards? A wii would be a better investment for the good exclusives, and they for the most part, can be emulated on Linux. Get your facts straight. I don't care if a fraction of a percent of the population used Linux. I'd take Minix or BSD over WinDOS, and OS X.

Do you use a microwave? It may use Linux. Refrigerator? Chances are it uses Linux. 90% of the worlds super computers? Linux.

Linux is everywhere. Learn it now, or fall with those too ignorant to enforce freedom.

No offense but you sound like you have Downs syndrome.

No I am not pissed that I bought a legitimate copy of Win7.  I am very happy with it and I run Fedora on my laptop because the small footprint OS works great for my underpowered second gen i3.  Neither is objectively better then the other.  Windows is friendlier to use and has more software support while Linux is more customizable.

Also no a microwave and most refrigerators don't run Linux.  A microwave probably just uses a microcontroller, why would you waste the energy also running an operating system for very simple task you retard.  Why don't you go learn what you are talking about before you make yourself sound like a idiot.

Would you like me to inform you about what those microcontrollers are doing sir?

Not to mention the new user tag on your profile or anything, but please, go back to where you came from.

What is so bad about a console running Linux anyway? The PS4 runs BSD (a cousin to Linux).
