I want to change my Old router to a newer 5GHZ router but i have one issue our ISP only provides routers with optical ports. so with a little bit of research i found

That is probably a question for your ISP. As a guess I would say no, there are lots of different types of fibre and you need to make sure it's the same as what your ISP is using.
If you just want better wi-fi you can get a new router or access point and just plug it in to your old one.
