Usb wireless adapter and Linux?

Hey I am new on the forum here and I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem that has been troubling me for a while.  I have a usb adapter that I use (Netgear 3100v2 usb) and it doesn't seem to work out of the box with a couple distros I like (Mint and Ubuntu).  I don't have access right now to an ethernet conection, so out of the box connectivity is a big problem with me.  If anyone could recommend a distro that recongizes my adapter out of the box that would be great.

Also, if I can get it working with Mint of Ubuntu in commmand line that would be great.

thx

I have had a few WiFi usb dongles before to work plug and play with Crunchbang linux, its debian based, but im not sure about yours, ive never had that model. Can't hurt to try, though

Thanks i'll try it out!

I've had WiFi dongles work flawlessly out of the box with Fedora.
