USB Type C Hubs: Do they exist?

Hi!

USB Type-C hubs on sites like Amazon only seem to come in configurations where there is at most one Type-C connector on the hub itself. What I'm looking for is a simple hub, turning my one Type-C connector into three or four.

Is there some technical reason why they don't exist or is it just too early for this?

I haven't seen any yet either. I think cost is the biggest problem right now. getting the data pass through required isn't cheap. PCI USB 3.1 cards are still around something like £200 (haven't checked for a few months) so they probably aren't worth making yet. But as the tech gets cheaper we should see some coming onto the market in the next year or so probably.

PLus, not many products use 3.1 yet so the demand isn't really there either sadly.

They do have one, this one's cheap/low quality though I guess

Thanks! Not sure if the link worked right, but on Amazon.de it shows up as a Type-C to 4x Type-A hub.

I just don't think anyone has taken the time to make a multiple Type C hub, not enough devices yet

this one has 2 type C on it

So it is possible. That's good to know, thank you! In theory, those could be daisy-chained for more ports :)
