USB Speakers 2.1 ($50-$90)

I'm looking for some 2.1 speakers for 50-90$. I would take USB over any since I do not own (and do not wish to purchase) a soundcard. Are there any other besides the Z Cinemas?

Why not use the 3.5mm plugs on the back of the motherboard? But yea if you can get the Logitech Z Cinema in the price range you want to get a 2.1 speakerset then go for them, as far as I know I don't think much is better for that amount of money. I own the Logitech Z-2300, great all-round set for the price, bit boomy bass though and a bit tiny on the high's, but upping the treble and putting the bass at around half of where it can go and they're great imo. But they are being fueled by a soundcard in my case.

I don't wish to use these as it sounds like muffled shit.

usb speakers, nobody fucking uses them.

what soundcard do you have anyway? Realtek will get the job done, and then some if your price range is that low. The only reason you'd get usb for speakers is... well actually you SHOULDN'T. Sure USB audio means itll have an integrated soundcard in the usb, but it wont sound any better than the average integrated motherboard soundcards anyway.

I have to agree, USB speakers and headsets aren't so great. I like being able to control my speakers through my sound card, which doesn't work with USB.

Well, with the Z Cinemas, the sound from my headphones plugged into the Z Cinemas compared to the realtek shit was much clearer and much better.

my point was that if you're going to spend 60-80$ you can get better sound quality than the z-cinemas, regardless of the soundcard. but whatever makes you happy i guess

Well then what's better, cause there isn't much stuff out there in that price range as far as I can see

Logitech X-540s are good, if you're into surround sound, other than that I guess there really aren't too many 2.1 choices.

What other 5.1 choices are there then?

Also, my desk setup is kind of like this, so I don't think 5.1 would really work :P

I have a 3 foot long desk, then an empty corner, on the side.

They look quite nice for the price, may want to take a look at them.

creative inspires are good, and if you can find them used/refurbed for cheap, the klipch pro media 2.1 are some of the best 2.1 speakers on the planet and they're cheaper than the z-2300's.

http://store.roofusexpress.com/Items/item.aspx?itemid=2370401 - the altec lansing vs4221's are really really great, meant for media centers, so they're for all types of sound. they sell for like 80$ new. These arent sold at places like newegg, or tigerdirect so you'll have to buy it from rather unknown spots like what i've sent, however i assure you these speakers are badass.

Should I get refurbed Klipsch,

And what about the bass, is there a problem with it?

Good find man, those Klipsch seem nice.

fucking fantastic find, buy it ASAP! No, the bass is PERFECT on those. It's booming and huge, but the satellites are loud enough to be heard just as well. Those are IMO the best 2.1 speakers in the 100-300$ range honestly. I've heard them in person and trust me you won't be upset with the purchase. they sound better than the z-2300s by far

I'll buy ASAP, right after my parents pay me back with the $20 they owe me. -.-'

hahaha, good. Also, to get the best sound out of them make sure you play with realteks equalizer, i know it seems shitty but it REALLY makes a big difference, so try some presets out and make some yourself.

I decided to go with the X-540s ($63 /w Shipping: used). I didn't know the cord was 14ft, so I guess I can mount the rears (or stick them on my bookcase).
