USB Solid State Storage with a known TBW (write endurance) rating

Hi!

Who has seen more sh¡t than me - i’ve never encountered a USB “stick” / “thumb drive”, with a TBW rating.

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

I guess, my options are limited to USB-SATA adapters - preferably with UASP support, because i really want those SMART reports.

you might as well get a usb-msata adapter or usb-nvme if you want that

My current use case was caused by switching motherboard variants.

My latest plan focuses on the ASRock Rack ROMED8-2T, rather than the EPYCD8-2T. I’m not sure why, but they replaced the SATA-DOM port with a USB-C port + a 20-pin header.

sigh …there goes my boot/hypervisor option …which i really, really, really don’t want to run off of a non-smartctl-able dumb stick.

…so, yeah, a UASP-capable SATA adapter seems about right
