USB Powered Portable Mointor

Hello I am working on a small project that willl require a monitor to be powered off a battery pack and accept either a hdmi to dvi connector I have found some monitors but they don't seem to support hdmi or dvi and only output over usb3

also I would prefer it to be >7inchs

You might just have to buy a barebones display and put it al together yourself, like something for a raspberry pi

I also don't know if dvi can power the display, can't remember if there were a few powered solely off HDMI

I have one of these. The quality is fairly mediocre and I really wish I had a higher resolution, but it works reliably and was cheap. I bought this 2 years ago so look for more updated models. Just searching on Amazon for "portable monitor" brings up some better options than what I purchased.

If you have an iPad around you can try an app called Duet. It allows the iPad's display to be a secondary display for whatever you want and I think is also touchscreen enabled. I know the app costs 20$ but I guess you can't find a better secondary monitor for that.

Lol "mointor"

That's what I'm calling them from now on.

but he needs the monitor to accept HDMI or VGA, apps like Duet, and the cheaper Twomon are usb only.

one way to do it is to buy a laptop monitor and an LCD Controller like this one which will convert HDMI/DVI to LVDS

glue things together and you can power it using a RasPi or something like that.

in fact im planning to build a similar setup so I can watch movies,tv shows and what not while im laying in my bed :D
