Usb c 3.2 2x2 vs 2x1 Mainboard vs Case?

Hi everyone,
I just realized that my Asus trx50 Mainboard has a 20gbs Usb header for the front of a chassis.
My Bequiet silent base 802 comes with a “type c usb 3.2 gen 2” front connector which I assume should be 2x1 =10gbs??
So would it be safe to connect it’s plug to the Asus header? Will this give me 2x2 functionality on the case connector then?

If your motherboard supports USB 3 gen 2x2, then yes you’ll get that in your case. The USB-C frontpanel plug contains a pin for every connector on USB-C, so the speed of the front panel USB-C cable is determined entirely by what your motherboard supports.

The second question is whether you have any devices that support USB 3 gen 2x2.

Thank you so much!

True, I focused so much on if that could work that I forgot that I actually currently have no device for this haha.
Tbh I was more fearing like damaging something because of a possible mismatch of the Main board connector and the pinout of the Case connector.
