Just a definition change of what speeds can be called "broadband" but hopefully if something like this goes through it will put some pressure on ISPs to upgrade their services if they can no longer be advertised as broadband:
I have been stuck in 10/1mb boat for about six years now, it was previously 5/1mb service.
I do have to commend my local ISP for at least giving what is advertised. Various speed tests confirm I get about 11.5 download and 1.5 upload speeds. When the service goes down and call their offices I always get a live person and they explain why the system is down and give an ETA for whenit will be restored. However I do have to buy a landline I do not want or need (subsidies) to have internet service which I get in a bundle for about $80.00 per month.
