Urlmon.dll error

So I recently built my new PC (specs will be shown below). However when I try to install any new program it gives me the urlmon.dll error - "the ordinal 459 could not be located in the dynamic link library urlmon.dll". After some Googling I and trying out various things, I cannot find a solution. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

[PC Specs]

  • AMD FX-6300 Six Core Processor
  • 8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
  • XFX Radeon HD 7870XT 2GB
  • 500W Bronze Certified Corswair PSU
  • MSI 970A-G43 Motherboard
  • Windows 7 SP1 32-bit (I know that 32bit will not allow me to use all of my RAM, and I am looking on getting a 64bit Win8 once the Microsoft website allows me to)

Smells like a windows fuckup, something that happened after you installed something.

First try re registering the faulty DLL:

i. Click Start, and then Type Run and hit enter.
ii. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll in the Open box, and then click OK.
iii. Click OK when you receive the following message: DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded

If that doesnt work, and you have time, try;

sfc /scannow


in promt (Run>cmd>enter). This will check the entire mess windows made and try to restore it. Do get comfortable tho because it can take a while.
