Hello guys, I am going to start building my first PC in two days, and the only thing I am not sure about is the case airflow. Let me tell you the whole thing. My case comes with all 5 fans (120 front, 120 rear, 120 top x2, 200 side) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144267 I will be installing an H80i in there, and unfortunately I am afraid I will have to remove one of my top fans, in order to fit the radiator, but I still can mount it on top of the case to the same spot. So, my first question - is there point of doing that, or I should just put it away? My main question is - what is going to be the best fan positioning for great airflow (including the 2 fans for h80i)? Thanks a lot!
Think i would just take the 200mm in the side and the 120 in the front as intake and then put the H80i and the top fan(s) to pull air out. Don't really think it will make much of a difference between having one or two fans in the top.
A) you want positive air pressure (more air pulling than exhausting) - This enables for less dust inside the case and more components get cooled because of the greature pressure.
B) the 2 fans on your H80i will not increase air flow, just increase the static pressure accross the radiator (meaning better cooling). Sticking 2 fans infront of each other in a dead space doesnt actually increase CFM.
C) I wouldnt be too worried about airflow, thats HEAPS of fans, you only need 3 decent 120's to cool a case properly, you're only adding more fans at that point to a case to lower sound, or fix some dead spots.
D) the fans ur removing, the exhausts from the top, are probably the least important fans anyway, I wouldnt worry too much.
Thank you guys!
