UPS for high power PC PSU, or dual PSU & UPS

I have a 1600 Watt PSU with an overclocked threadripper 5975wx and overclocked rtx 4090. When the power draw gets big, my UPS starts beeping because it can’t handle the power draw.

I can’t find anything online in terms of UPS’es that should support my system that isn’t thousands of dollars.

I’m building the replacement 7975wx system and it supports dual PSU, it comes with 24 pin adapter cable with the motherboard. Seems like a no brainer to go with 2 smaller PSU+UPS combo.

thoughts?

I use multiple 2KW semi-commercial units that are reasonably priced.:

Opti Ups - TS2000E - Opti-UPS UPS TS2000E USB AVR 6Outlet 2000VA 1200W NEMA 5-15 Retail (neobits.com)

What I like about the above UPS – is that there’s a single On/Off switch which will immediately disconnect power to the load. 2KW is about the limit for drawing power off 120VAC. As it is – you’ll need an adapter to plug these into a standard residential 120VAC outlet:

Amazon.com: [4-in-1] 15 Amp Household AC Plug to 20 Amp T Blade Adapter,5-15P to 5-20R,5-15P to 6-15R,5-15P to 6-20R, 4 in 1 AC Power Adapter,15A 125V to 20A 250V Adapter : Tools & Home Improvement

Make sure that you plug each UPS into a different outlet with it’s own circuit breaker in your house main panel.

My setup uses 3 2KW units – two of the above mentioned 2KW UPSs and 1 Maruson 2KW unit. The latter will accept power from an inverter or generator, while the simpler/cheaper Opti UPSs will reject power from inverters or most generators (at least those that I’ve tried).

Moving the headache from “UPS is mad” to “I got two PSUs, and they do not like each other” seems like a terrible idea to me.

Why wouldn’t they like each other?

Not saying this is the problem but if the circuit voltage drops and the UPS is boosting voltage some UPS models will alarm or chirp. I personally have used a Dell 1920W which is complete overkill and getting quite old, it has done a wonderful job when the power goes out even if I’m pulling nearly 650W with my main PC and everything else plugged into it

You got the system on a UPS right now, right?
If you were to take half the load off the UPS by having a secondary PSU in the system, then you need to put the 2nd PSU on its own UPS or you have gained nothing.

That was my whole point, to have 2 Mrs expensive UPSs that can support the load.
