So I did a speedtest result on my computer and on my phone. the weird thing is that the upload speed on my phone is faster than on the computer.
Phone:
Computer
Anyone know the reason for this. By the way the test I did on my phone was in my bedroom nowhere near the router.
Time of day? speeds vary, not unusual
they were taken right after each test
is the phone on your wifi or is it using the provided network (ex 4G LTE)
nope on my main wifi at home
its on wifi look at the ISP they are both dodo,
how many test did you run if it was just that is not an valid data sample
have you confirmed that the results are the same on a different speed test,
Speakeasy Megapath Speedtest
For me, speedtest.net doesnt work so well, so i use speakeasy's. Different times of day also vary. Idealy, you want to do three tests in a row at different times of day to get an accurate average of your network speeds.
Lastly, the networking nics in your phone and computer are different, especially if they are on different networks, 2.4 GHz, or 5GHz. So it would make sense that they are different.
I don't know how the heck did they take the time results wrong on the computer here is a raw shot of the picture. and cant really take Speakeasy Megapath Speedtest since flash is not supported on my phone.
yes I have a a lot of tabs gotta have use for those 8gbs of RAM
I would take that down and just write the average results, your ip address in on there. You don't want that being public.
Also, close all the tabs and try again. I believe they're skewing the results.
0.0 i got no idea how that happened Edit* change the picture to something more accurate.
I'm curious to know the signal strength of your computer to the router. Your computer is connecting wireless yes?
If so, go to the command prompt and type in:
netsh wlan show interfaces
and down near the bottom, you will see your signal strength.
my computer is connected wired so no point as you can see the bottom right corner
Oh sorry didnt see that. Umm, what does the speed test say from megapath? Speedtest.net has a lot of ads that could also skew the results, if you get the same results lmk.
cant take megapath on my phone but only on the computer so here are the results. oh and i chose seattle wa
from your computer do a ping test to your router. It will be your default gatway.
ipconfig
write down your default gateway
ping -n 20 "default gateway"
note do not include the quotes
Those speeds are normal, there was no packet loss. From our tests nothing seems out of the ordinary.
I did some research, and this is what I found from your ISP.
Average Down Speed
Average Up Speed
Source
You're getting higher than average it seems, on both ends.
I think your phone, or your router, handles wireless better than it does wired. Bc your wired ping was nearly twice as fast as your wireless. And this point, I'm not entirely sure tbh.
nah its the phone. I have a old laptop that connects to the wifi and get similar results to the Computer....... eh thanks for the help/
ceebs getting out the laptop cause i need to go to do stuff.
