uPlay opening steam to play games!

Okay, so I just got Watch_Dogs given to me as a gift, I activated the code and now, when I go to play it, it opens the steam store page that says that I dont own the game!? Idk what to do!!!

I tried that, it said that it was invalid :/

Uplay client is so bad that it refers you to Steam to play the game.
